Eid is just 8 days away, can’t believe how fast this Ramadan went by! As a breastfeeding mom of a 4 month old, I wasn’t fasting this year but I tried to incorporate other aspects of Ramadan in our daily lives by giving more to charity, praying more, having iftar together as a family and for my elder daughter creating a Ramadan Basket and a Ramadan Calendar to keep her excited throughout this holy month.
As my elder daughter is almost 8 this year, she also took part in our daily prayers which was a highlight for her this Ramadan and she also showed interest in learning how to read Quran which made my Muslim mama heart so happy. As the end of this special month is almost near, I also started decorating for Eid and wrapping up presents for the family to get us excited for the Big day. And lastly I created a super simple tablescape for Eid with items found on Amazon. Being on mat leave when our finances are limited, I wanted to make sure the pieces I used for this tablescape are affordable also because my time is limited and split between housework and childcare, I wanted something that can be put together quickly and is easy to setup.
I used a lot of old pieces that I already had at home like the tablecloth and the jute placemats (from HomeSense), the gold chargers and the beautiful turkish style blue and white plates are from Dollarama, I knowww they are so pretty and cost fraction of the price compared to the ones from renowned decor shops. The Eid Mubarak banner and the gold hanging wall decors are also old and from Eid Party Co. The eucalyptus garland, the star moon garland and the gold cutleries are from Amazon. The crescent moon wooden centerpiece is also old and from Amazon but I spray painted it gold.
I have added similar pieces (all from Amazon) on to my Like To Know It Page for you to have a one stop shop so you can recreate this look with ease.
And that’s it, hope you liked it and hope it will give you some inspiration for a tablescape this Eid. ANd to those celebrating an advanced Eid Mubarak to you all.
