Can’t believe it’s already the 3rd day of Ramadan, time sure is flying by. Even though I am not fasting this year because I’m breastfeeding, I am still trying to get myself into the spirit of Ramadan by praying, donating to charity and by getting my daughter involved in various Ramadan activities and crafts. She gets so excited every morning to open the envelopes of her Ramadan Calendar to see what good deed she is asked to do that day. She also loves setting up the iftar table at the end of the day.
This is the 3rd year I’m using the base of this wreath that I bought for only $4 from Dollarama. I love this bamboo wreath because of the grooves as it makes it so easy to make seasonal wreaths using various stems. All you need to do is, stick the stems into the grooves creating the shape of your liking.
Last year I made a winter holiday inspired wreath using this same wreath base and some real cedar stems.
Then in fall, I made a fall wreath using some branches of dry leaves.
And this spring, I’ve used some faux spring floral stems and turned it into a spring inspired Ramadan wreath.
Items Required:
- A base wreath made of bambo, fabric or metal. I’m using one made of bamboo.
- Faux Florals and greenery
- Wooden Craft Board
- Black marker
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
- Wire
Process:
- First wrap the faux greenery stem all around the wreath to create a base.
- Now detach all the small stems from the faux floral branch and start sticking them into the grooves making any shape you like. I only put them towards the bottom leaving the top part of the wreath blank.
- Secure all the stems using the wire.
- Then write Ramadan Mubarak on the wooden board
- Using hot glue, secure the board onto the wreath base.
- I also added some floral stems directly on to the wooden board, around the writing using hoy glue to create more layers and interest.
And that’s it! You can hang it using a command hook or a wreath hanger and it can be hung indoors and outdoors.
